Day by Day
Day 1: Lemosho Glades to Mti Mkubwa Camp
- Begin the trek at the Lemosho Glades (2,100 meters) and hike through the lush rainforest.
- Reach the Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820 meters) for the first overnight stay.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
- Continue the ascent through the forest, eventually reaching the heath and moorland.
- Arrive at the Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters) for overnight rest.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut
- Trek through the highland desert with expansive views of the Shira plateau.
- Reach the Moir Hut (4,200 meters) for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Moir Hut – Acclimatization day
- Spend the day at Moir Hut for acclimatization.
- Consider short hikes to aid in the acclimatization process.
Day 5: Moir Hut to Barranco Camp
- Trek through the alpine desert, encountering the Lava Tower and descending to the Barranco Valley.
- Arrive at the Barranco Camp (3,950 meters) for overnight rest.
Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
- Traverse the Barranco Wall and proceed through the Karanga Valley.
- Reach the Karanga Camp (4,035 meters) for overnight rest.
Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
- Trek through the barren landscape to the Barafu Camp (4,680 meters), the base for the summit attempt.
- Rest and prepare for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak.
Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
- Begin the summit attempt during the early hours, reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) at sunrise.
- Descend to the Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) for the final overnight stay on the mountain.
Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
- Descend through the lush rainforest to the Mweka Gate.
- Receive certificates of achievement and celebrate the successful climb.
